About iPrayerworks

More Ministry. Less Administration.

Development of iPrayerworks began in February of 2006 as a result of a meeting with a prayer room coordinator who was frustrated with the never-ending shuffling of prayer cards and prayer requests. The directive was simple, "Create a system that will handle all of the manual tasks of the prayer room so the prayer team can spend more time praying and less time administrating."

After months of coding, testing, sampling and recoding, iPrayerworks went live in a real world church environment.

iPrayerworks is an affordable, customizable pastoral care management system that can be used to benefit a church of any size.

The Program

Organize and Motivate Intercessors

Churches using iPrayerworks have seen a dramatic increase in involvement in their prayer ministries. Intercessors will enjoy secure, 24/7 access to the iPrayerworks system allowing them to log-in and prayer for the prayer concerns of your church at any time from any where they have a computer with an Internet connection.

The iPrayerworks system offers additional encouragement for intercessors through the handling of prayer requests and praise reports. Because answered prayer and praise reports are arguably the biggest form of encouragement an intercessor can get, the iPrayerworks system will allow prayer coordinators to easily mark and single out praise reports for prayer team intercessors to see.

Manage and Track Prayer Requests

iPrayerworks replaces the old card system, Word documents, or Excel spread sheets prayer ministries once used for keeping track of prayer requests. Our simple to use technology allows prayer teams to quickly and easily pray through all church prayer requests from any Online computer at any time. Prayer team coordinators can automatically send emergency prayer requests to the entire prayer team with the touch of a button.

The system also allows for the automated delivery of the church prayer list. The prayer coordinator can select a scheduled time to send the prayer list and the system does the rest. Once set, the iPrayerworks system will automatically deliver the prayer list to the entire prayer team on time, every time.

iPrayerworks is an Online prayer request software application that is hosted and maintained on our servers. That means you and your Intercessors can access the system without installing any software. Your Online prayer room can be accessed from anywhere at anytime. The only tools needed are a computer, a web browser and an Internet connection.

Organize and Manage Homebound Visitation

iPrayerworks allows for the easy management and tracking of homebound visitation. Your pastors and staff can review daily the list of people in your church who are homebound. The system records when visits are made to each homebound member and will give selected staff, at a glance, the number of days it has been since the member was last visited.

Anyone that makes a homebound visit can easily enter the details of their visit. This entry will allow others to see the details of the visit.

The list of homebound members can be sorted by name or community (if they live in any type of assisted living or retirement community). This type of sort allows a pastor making a visit at one location to quickly see the names of other members who may be at the same location.

Organize and Manage Hospital Visitation

One of the biggest challenges at any large church is efficiently managing the visitation of members who are going into or already in the hospital. The iPrayerworks system includes a powerful, yet easy to use interface for managing hospital lists. The hospital list can easily be updated automatically and sent to anyone responsible for making hospital visits.

Following each visit, those making the visit can quickly enter the details of their visit into the database. Those details can be reviewed by other clergy prior to their visit on a subsequent day. This simple yet powerful feature gives your staff the power of knowledge prior to their visit to the hospital.

The hospital list can also track birth and death notices as well as pending hospitalizations.

This powerful tool is included with the purchase of the iPrayerworks system. There is no additional charge for this feature.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the responsibilities of the Prayer Room Manager?

The prayer room manager reviews, edits, and approves the prayer requests submitted by members and guests from any computer with a web browser and an Internet connection.

Can they share those responsibilities?

Absolutely. Many of our prayer room managers have assigned the task of managing prayer requests to several lay leaders. These lay leaders can review and approve requests from anywhere they have a computer and an Internet connection.

How are emergency situation prayers handled?

A prayer request that comes in as an emergency can be marked as such by the Prayer Room Manager. The emergency request can then be immediately sent to the entire list of prayer intercessors at the click of a button.

How long does a prayer stay on the prayer list?

That is determined by the system administrator. Standard requests stay from 1 – 4 weeks. Ongoing requests can stay until removed by the Prayer Room Managers.

Who takes the responsibility for removing prayers from the list?

The system will take care of keeping the list up to date based on the date the request was last updated.

Is there anything the intercessors need to do after they have prayed?

The system will automatically mark the request as prayed for and will move that request to the back of the list. Emergency requests can be presented at the top of each intercessory list.

How does an intercessor access the prayers?

The Intercessors will log in to the system once the administrator has created an account for them. Intercessors can log in to the system from any computer that has a web browser and Internet access.

What are the criteria for removing a prayer from the prayer list?

The system keeps track of prayer requests by the date they are updated. The system will allow a request to stay on the list from 1 to 4 weeks depending on how the Prayer Room Manager has set the list to retain requests. Ongoing requests are retained until removed.

How does an intercessor choose which prayer or prayers to pray for?

They do not have to choose. The system will present the requests that need prayer, including placing emergency requests at the top of the list.

If I have a person who is chronically, ill how do I keep them on the prayer list?

The system allows you to keep any prayer request on the list by simply marking it as an ongoing request.

Can a PRM assign more or less responsibilities to specific intercessors?

Each system user can be assigned as much or as little authority as the system administrator allows.

How does the intercessor know that person has been kept on the list?

Intercessors are presented the list in the order that prayer is needed. Intercessors will not have access to requests “on demand.” They simply pray for the needs as they are presented to them.

Can an intercessor modify the prayer requests?

Intercessors cannot change any information within the requests UNLESSS the Prayer Room Manager gives them the access.

How does the intercessor know when a prayer request has been fulfilled?

Administrators can convert any request to a “Praise Report.” Intercessors can access the praise reports at any time.

How do my intercessors know what the prayer needs are at any given time?

They simply need to login in. The system will present the requests in the order for which they were last prayed.

How can the Online prayer room help the intercessors?

With an Online prayer room, intercessors do not have to drive to the church or wait for the prayer list to be emailed to access the prayer needs. Intercessors can access the prayer list anytime from any computer that has Internet access and a web browser.

What is the purpose of emailing the prayer list weekly?

Some intercessors may not want to login, although logging in is the recommended way to see and pray for the prayer list.

Is the staff automatically emailed a copy of the prayer requests weekly?

The system can be set to automatically email the prayer list at any time predetermined by the manager to anyone the Prayer Room Manager has added to the intercessor list.

What other information does the staff members get, and how is it disseminated to them?

The staff and the intercessors get the full prayer list including any contact information entered by the person making the prayer request.

How are prayer cards normally sent out?

Contact information is presented to the Intercessors (E-mail address or mailing address) for the requests that want a note from the prayer team. It is up to each intercessor to decide if they would like to send a note. The system does come with a feature that allows the intercessors the ability to record the fact that they have sent a note.

Who gets a copy of the hospital visitation report?

The list is determined by the administrator. How do they receive it? The list can be automatically or manually sent, depending on your preference.

Does the PRM have the responsibility to distribute the lists?

The system can automatically send information to your users OR users can login and access information they are allowed to see.

We already send prayer requests via e-mail, why do we need iPrayerworks?

Most churches that have an email system still have to manually compile their list. This system will automatically generate the list which will result in a tremendous savings of administrative time.

In reference to hospital visits, when and how is the information entered into the program?

The information is entered by the person/s assigned by the administrator and can be input by any computer with a web browser, Internet access, and the appropriate credentials.

How long until our request is handled?

Prayer room managers are sent notification of a new prayer request immediately after it is submitted. The request will be available to intercessors once it is reviewed and approved by the manager.

Who trains us in the use of the program?

We will. The system is extremely powerful yet it is very easy to learn and use.

How does that training take place?

We will train you via a webinar. We can come to you, but you will need to pay for travel expenses. However, Online training is as effective as training in person. The system is very powerful but it is also very user friendly.

Is anyone available if we need help?

Absolutely. The system has a built in feature for support. Help is only an email away and is included in your subscription price.
